First of all, Fansubwiki is the best place to start if you want a full picture of what’s to come!! Here I’m just going to highlight a few that caught my eye…hehe

1. BOSS ~ 16 April

bossOMG! This is a must see!! Why it’s no. 1 on my list:

The cast! We have Yuki Amami (been a fan since watching Top Caster), Yutaka Takenouchi (*jaw drop*), Erika Toda (a pretty face to watch) and last of all…Tetsuji Tamayama!!! STELLAR CAST!! Surely you have to agree!?!

The story is not completely original but hey I can deal with that! Yuki leads a team of detectives to solve crimes. She’s smart and capable but she has one problem – a difficulty in understanding men!! Fat chance finding a husband!? LOL

But LAST but not least, the MUSIC!! Our music man behind Triangle is BACK!! Hiroyuki Sawano will be taking charge of BOSS’ soundtrack! Now with that list, surely it’s at least worth watching ONE episode!?!

The new drama season in Japan has started! YAY! Check this spot out for the latest rundown of what’s being subbed or not! What’s the point of a great drama (like Last Friends) if it isn’t subbed, right?

Now for the ones that catch my eye:

ヴォイス Voice

voice

Genre: Medical + drama

Actors: Eita (yay!!), Satomi Ishihara

Broadcast date: 12 January

Fansub groups: GiriGiri (soft), TimeLesSub (hard)

EITA!! YAY!! One of my favourite Japanese actors! Can’t wait to see more of him! He plays one of the five medical students who are studying forensic pathology. His character is bright and is known for his great perceptive skills and strong intuition. Together, the students work through various mysteries. Another point worth noting is that the screenwriter is Shigeki Kaneko who was also responsible for Proposal Daisakusen.

I have been patiently waiting for SARS-Fansubs to sub the special episode of Galileo when I accidently came across this!! yelloweito has SUBBED IT!! Even better is that she has uploaded it to Megaupload and Sendspace for those who are out of touch with the BT world. The links are available in her post. ENJOY! I haven’t watched it yet but will soon!! More of Masaharu Fukuyama and guest appearance from Masami from plays a student of his!! ^________^

galileo-sp

This was taken from the end of the SP....=)

OMG! Not only is Galileo being made into a film and will be released on 4 October, they’re also making a SP to be released on the same day! BUT, it won’t be Kou and Masaharu we’ll be seeing as the story will be from 3 years before the time of the drama. Anyway, there will also be an appearance form Masami Nagasawa who plays a student lab assistant!~ I like Masami! Can’t wait! ^_^

Galileo gets SP on same day as film release!

Fans of the drama series Galileo have one more thing to look forward to. Anticipation is already high for the “Yougisha x no Kenshin” movie, opening in theaters on October 4. Now, Fuji TV is turning it into a double dose: a one-shot special titled “Galileo: Episode Zero” will be aired on the same day as the film’s release.

The special is set 3 years prior to the drama series, with the story being related to a murder case that was partly referenced in the original show. Detective Kusanagi (Kazuki Kitamura) is looking to solve a murder mystery, and he gets back in touch with his former badminton teammate, the brilliant professor Manabu Yukawa (Masaharu Fukuyama)

The special will also portray an incident from Yukawa’s college days. Popular teen actor Haruma Miura plays the young Yukawa.

Other cast members include Masami Nagasawa as a student lab assistant and Karina as a mysterious woman tied to the murder case. Fuji TV will broadcast the drama at 9:00pm on October 4 (Source: Tokyograph).

Well, the 57th Drama Academy Awards is JUST around the corner!! Apparently the voting will end on 22 July so I’m expecting the actual awards to be presented in the month of July. Sorry but I could not find the exact date!!

BUT! I did find out something!

BIG QUESTION: Who is going to run for best actress?

ANSWER: Masami Nagasawa

PROOF: Here –> THE nomination list

Oh well…I guess it was expected but I’m rooting for Juri and Eita to get the best actress/actor awards!!

Actually – this is my wish list:

Best supporting actress – Juri Ueno

Best supporting actor – Eita

Best actress – Masami Nagasawa

Song drama award – Prisoner of Love!!

I actually don’t think Masami was that amazing but I’m all for LF!! hahaha Ideally, Last Friends should do a full sweep of all the awards but the above are the ones I’m most concerned about!

Anyway, GO LAST FRIENDS!! If only there was a way we could vote! I’ll keep you guys posted if I find out anything more!!

Love this damn show...^_^

When I initially first heard of a SP, I was so excited! I was hoping that given the timing of it (being right after episode 11), it would be like an episode 12, filled with fresh scenes. But those familiar with Japanese special episodes would know, in MOST cases, they just do a CRAP job and just give you a bunch of recaps!!! LAZY ASSES!! I was sooo pissed off when I heard there was only NINE minutes of fresh scenes! THe worst thing was that Ruka appears for like 30 seconds – it’s like….WTF?

Anyway, as I mentioned before, as long as you never expected much from the SP and took Ep 11 as the ending, it isn’t so bad! Yes, I would have LOOOOVED for there to be a good heart to heart, one on one moment between Ruka and MIchiru but given we’re talking about prime time TV here, that’s probably being a little too hopeful! I must admit that I am nevertheless disappointed. Oh well…I guess this drama has already delivered a lot of wonderful moments and we really shouldn’t be so greedy. =( I’m sure there will be fanfic going around so might have to settle for those! haha I’ll let you know if I find something worth reading. ^_^

Now for some snapshots of the SP…*sigh*…nothing exciting…well not much!! Let’s start off with a nice family pic…sweeeet….though I’d much rather there wasn’t a gap between Ruka & Michiru!! hahaha

Rumi!! Kawaii!!! How cute is she?? “Ru” from Ruka and “mi” from Michiru and within that we also have the sound “ru” from Takeru!! This must be one of the cutest ideas in drama!! haha Hands down to the script writer!! Aaah….!! Happy family!! Yes! Please always stay together and give us a REAL SP!!! Onegai!!!

A cute little insert – can you spot it!!?? It’s a mini mug for Rumi!!! Aaaaw!! I’m guessing that it’s from papa Takeru!! hahaha

Once again, congratulations to the cast and entire team behind the production of Last Friends! Thanks to their hard work, we were able to enjoy 11 weeks of pure craziness! Seriously, you should have seen some of the analysis going on in the D-Addicts thread!?! CRAZY stuff! haha Really enjoyed this one. Though I might not have agreed to every choice the director and scriptwriter made to the story, I still love the end result. A stunning cast! Amazing OST and selfless love all thrown in one….what more can you want!?! You have to check this one out if you haven’t already. ^_^

Now I’ll just curl up and suffer depression…no more Last Friends!!! =(

First of all, a BIG congratulations to the Last Friends team!! The ratings broke the 20% mark!! For a drama with such themes and a starting episode of only 13.9%, this is a GREAT result! Almost unheard of!! おめでとう!

Btw, I give up…!! There were TOO many good scenes to capture! *SIGH* I think this is definitely the episode that we have all been waiting for! FINALLY, Michiru knows of Ruka’s feelings and has an ultimate confrontation of all Ruka has done for her.

There were a number of great scenes in this hour. First of all – Ruka escapes from hell, then there is the teary father & daughter talk, Ruka’s confession and finally Michiru’s literally relives Ruka’s love for her! It’s no wonder this episode scored a 20.7%! Though it was probably partially due to the missing preview at the end of episode 9 (talk about smart marketing)!!

I will focus on the last couple of minutes. I think Michiru’s acting was spectacular here – the tears and despair, pain – just a whole mosaic of emotions. Realising all Ruka has done for her – about time I reckon!! Here is the sequence

Honestly, I think there was such an expression of feelings – good work Masami! Now rush off and find Ruka!! Clearly that doesn’t happen…let’s just skip the ending of this episode…best forgotten… =(

On the otherhand, let’s end with this wonderful scene from Ruka…*dreamy eyes*

Gokigenyou!
