Before I jump in, I noticed one odd thing about this animation!! Am I the ONLY one that thinks that all the characters seem to have a 5 o’clock shade going!!?! Everyone’s bottom half of the face is a shade darker!! It’s like they all need a bit of a good scrub or shave!!! hahaha Am I seeing things here!??!!
Anyway, the animation here is clean but more importantly, the SEIYUU!!! I LOOOOOOVE the cast! I have not seen some of these names and so many in one anime for so long!!! We have (*drum rolls*):
- Yui Horie!!!! She’s the 2nd girl from the right! I miss her voice so much!!!! The moment she came on I just couldn’t help but smile!!!! ^___________^
- Rie Kugimiya!!!! Toko from Marimite!!! hohohoho oh and Shana of course!! She’s the first girl from the left.
- Romi Paku!!! Oooh she has an androgynous look here – third from the left with the blue cap. Can’t wait!!!!!
- Ami Koshimizu!!! She’s the one to the far right. Such a sweet voice!!
With all these voice actresses, who cares about the story!?!?! But don’t worry! Actually the story doesn’t quite disappoint either. Yu the protagonist (silver hair guy) moves to a little town to live with his uncle and he meets these new friends. In episode 1, there is a murder, him and his friends are suddenly sucked into another world and somehow he seems to be able to call upon some massive machine to help him out!!! It’s kind of cool but it’s almost like too much all in one episode. I’m DEFINITELY going to watch this. Who’s watching this too? I know k1y0 is!! ^_^
Thank you hashime for preparing a summary of this spring’s shows. I don’t know how I can do this without your concise yet informative summary! I agree – this season looks a lot better than the last. There’s a few I will give it a go and generally the key factors are my main concerns (if you don’t know already) – art, story and seiyuu. The last two kind of go hand in hand. Here we go and broadly in order of preference:
Matsumae Ohana is 16 years old and about to start work at an old Japanese hot spring hotel. How I miss those places! I could seriously do with some relaxing right now. I just watched the trailer and I LOVE IT!!! The art is AMAZING! It took my breath away once it came on! The story line is already kind of sweet and fuzzy but we also seem to have a good mix of colourful nicely designed characters! Is it just me but that girl with black hair def seems to be a tsundere!!! *SQUEAL* Oooh! I even spotted a blush!!! ^_^ To top it off, the music rocks and we have Aki Toyosaki and MAMIKO NOTO!!!! *LOUDER SQUEAL*
This one reminds me of Railgun! There’s a school for training “armed detectives”, there’s ecchi and action! The character designs look ok too! I like the sniper with the headphones!!! Kakkoi!!!! There’s also Rie Kugimiya!! I have just one concern…apparently the director here was also responsible for the ghastly Freezing…

Some sci-fi anime about a time machine and a girl gone missing in Akihabara. The art looks pretty good but no particular seiyuu that I am a fan of. I’ll give this one a go – at least for one episode and see how I go.
C – The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
I’m not sure what this is about but the art looks worthy of checking out. Something about the financial district!? I’m lost…The trailer kind of scared me a bit though…
I might want to also give Ao no Exorcist a go as it reminds me of Keanu Reeve’s Constantine which is one of my favourite movies. It’s scary but I love it! Probably cos it’s got Keanu!! haha Anyway, I’m only doing a slight mention as the anime looks scary!! I might find it too disturbing to watch at night. I’ll see.

Below are what I will be trying to watch in order of my interest!!

A josei comedy!! FINALLY!! I have been in a yuri anime drought for FAR TOO LONG!!! Can’t wait to watch this! It’s about a couple that stays in an apartment full of fujoshi!! Female otakus!! haha Remember Yasuko in Aoi Hana? One of her sisters were a fujoshi!! ^_^ Oh and one BIG bonus to throw in!! Guess who’s a seiyuu here!?! MAMIKO NOTO!!! She’s not the main voice but I don’t care!! I haven’t heard her voice in ages!! Btw, her character’s name is “Jiji-sama”! hehehehehe
Are you guys READY?!?! It’s time to check out what yuri animes are on the horizon!! hahaha Now put those yuri goggles on!!! Grab the nearby magazines lying around!! LET’S GO!!! HAHAHAHAHA
So what do we have waiting on our horizon this season!?! I’ve seriously zoomed into this and with the help of my trusty yuri circle, we’ve narrowed it down to a few key ones!! If we’ve missed any, PLEASE PLEASE do let me know!! Baka me for leaving some out!!! hahaha Now here it goes!! (Btw, I relied on hashihime’s amazing summary of this season’s anime!!)

BLUSH GALORE!!!
HAhahahaha SEriously, what more can you expect when you have a training camp at a private ONSEN retreat!? A perfect setting for some serious fanservice! I lost count of the number of times Noda-chan blushes here. hahaha Noda-chan tries to act all proper and initially refuses to wear a yukata but this is easily resolved by orders from above!!! Mako!! hahaha
Before I start my rant, let me justify that my take on this anime is REASONABLY objective as I have not read the manga. However, I do note that I’m a big fan of Marimite which may sway my view slightly given the seiyuu involved.
Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, this anime was a VERY pleasant surprise!! Not only is it a little adrenalin rushing (when did mahjong become such an interesting ‘sport’???) but there seems to some sprinkling of yuri!!! AHAHA I was again trying to procrastinate from doing some real work when I casually remembered this new anime series. Why not…let me youtube…that’s where it all went downhill! haha I almost woke up late the next day!! hahaha
My first reaction 1 minute into the anime:
- Art looked ok
- Oooooh…!!! YURI!!! “What a beautiful girl…” (what a giveaway!?! It was like, “let’s at least lock in the yuri die hard fans”….YEP ME!!!! hahaha)
- Ok, those ‘assets’ look a tad too much…(Tsk! So typical of the Japanese!?!) I honestly thought it was meant to be a joke and we’d find out that she’s just stuffed something up there!?! But I’m wrong! Clearly…
- It’s YUMI in a new uniform!! hahaha I particularly picked up on this when Saki is caught looking at Nodoka and hides behind her book!! ^_^ Like Yumi x Sachiko!!! =) I like!!!! I don’t care whether it’s just admiration (or maybe a little bit more??? *hopeful*) but I’m definitely watching this with yuri goggles on!! ^_____^
