It’s kind of obvious who I was focusing on when I watched this episode, right?? Hahahaha I’m afraid no one else really captured my attention. I CANNOT stand the guy Tori! He is SUCH a L-O-S-E-R!!!! AAAAAAAAH!!! The only thing that kept me going here is Miyuki Sawashiro who voices Masazumi (the dark haired girl pictured here). She also did the voice of Canaan and Hagino from Blue Drop!!! To be honest, I foresee that I will eventually be dropping this anime. I might hang out for another episode.

Who’s watching this one?

Before I jump in, I noticed one odd thing about this animation!! Am I the ONLY one that thinks that all the characters seem to have a 5 o’clock shade going!!?! Everyone’s bottom half of the face is a shade darker!! It’s like they all need a bit of a good scrub or shave!!! hahaha Am I seeing things here!??!!

Anyway, the animation here is clean but more importantly, the SEIYUU!!! I LOOOOOOVE the cast! I have not seen some of these names and so many in one anime for so long!!! We have (*drum rolls*):

  • Yui Horie!!!! She’s the 2nd girl from the right! I miss her voice so much!!!! The moment she came on I just couldn’t help but smile!!!! ^___________^
  • Rie Kugimiya!!!! Toko from Marimite!!! hohohoho oh and Shana of course!! She’s the first girl from the left.
  • Romi Paku!!! Oooh she has an androgynous look here – third from the left with the blue cap. Can’t wait!!!!!
  • Ami Koshimizu!!! She’s the one to the far right. Such a sweet voice!!

With all these voice actresses, who cares about the story!?!?! But don’t worry! Actually the story doesn’t quite disappoint either. Yu the protagonist (silver hair guy) moves to a little town to live with his uncle and he meets these new friends. In episode 1, there is a murder, him and his friends are suddenly sucked into another world and somehow he seems to be able to call upon some massive machine to help him out!!! It’s kind of cool but it’s almost like too much all in one episode. I’m DEFINITELY going to watch this. Who’s watching this too? I know k1y0 is!! ^_^

I decided to check this anime out cos the story sounded kind of interesting but it was mainly the art that captured my attention. The animation seemed very high quality and the character design of the girls kind of remind me of Shizuma from Strawberry Panic! It’s the really pointy noise and dainty looking faces. I seriously find Shizuma very hard to beat on the looks side. *SWOONS* hahahaha

My only complaint about this anime from watching it for a few minutes is their oversized BREASTS!!! *ROLL EYES* Seriously. *sigh* On the whole though, I do like the designs. The soundtrack that played in the opening was promising too. Finally for good measure, there are a tonne of seiyuu that will ring a bell!

  • Ami Koshimizu – Nina Wang from Mai Otome, Kanako from Marimite, Holo from Spice & Wolf
  • Aoi Yuuki – Alice from Croisee, Madoka from Puella Magi
  • Marina Inoue – Natsuru from Kampfer, Matsurika from Maria Holic,
  • Miyuki Sawashiro – Maria from Arakawa, Canaan from Canaan!!
  • Ai Shimizu – Tamao from Strawberry Panic!
  • Mai Nakahara – Nagisa from Strawberry Panic!
  • Minako Kotobuki – Mugi from K-ON!
Episode 1 was just seeing the class of students trying to attack their sensei. Looks interesting enough…and the fighting it kind of cool. I think that mysterious girl with the grey hair is Horizon? I’ll keep watching! ^_^
.

To be clear, I have not watched any episode from existing seasons so I’m running into Fate/Zero as blind as a bat!!! The fact that it jumps three time periods in the first 8 minutes does not help!!! X_X

The only thing I got out of episode 1 was that Kirei is sent to Japan to learn magic so that in 3 years time, he will be powerful enough to command a servant for the Holy Grail War. It doesn’t seem to be his personal wish but is willing to follow orders.

Next we see Kariya’s outrage when he finds out that Sakura, a young girl from the Tosaka family, is adopted by his father with the intention that she produces a powerful child with magical powers. Tosaka is a family of magi blood. As she only has one year till the war, the short cut to getting her trained is to have her immersed in these awful bugs. That is so sick!!! I hope this anime moves away from torturing young girls etc cos it’s seriously sickening! Actually now I’m getting confused. Is she meant to be trained or get pregnant!? ARGH!!!!

Anyway, luckily there is Kariya who offers himself to the training and if he succeeds in winning the war, for Sakura to be set free. Sounds like a good gesture but it’s too late! The @#(&$# father is still going to train the girl in case he fails.

I don’t know what to expect but there wasn’t much music ready to be appreciated in this episode. I hope it gets better!!!!

P.S. Btw, one of the reason why I’m willing to watch this is because Ayako Kawasumi is in it!! I have not heard her voice in AGES!!! She was the person behind Chikane’s voice from Kannazuki no Miko!!!! *SWOON* Just for her, I’ll keep watching. ^_^

So I started the episode with expectations of a pretty slice of life anime that would give me a peaceful 20 minutes of relaxation with some laughs in between but what did I get!?! Yes, the art is no doubt quite striking but don’t let the face of Ohana (the main girl) trick you! She may look innocent, sweet and weak with her two flowers in her hair but she is the opposite!!!

She lives alone with her mother who appears somewhat useless as a mother! Ohana seems to be the one running the household and is told one night that her mother must run off with her boyfriend as the debt collectors are after him!! I’m like you’re kidding me!?!! -_-” But rather than joining them in their midnight run, her mother sends her off to her grandmother that runs a hot spring inn. Doesn’t sound too bad, right? WRONG!! The old lady turns out to be a nightmare!! I’m also furious at how she treats Ohana and the other girls at the inn!!! RAWR you!!! If I was a customer and I knew that the inn was being run that way, I would never return!!!! I feel sorry for Ohana but I like her character. She’s strong!!! GO GIRL!!!

Thank you hashime for preparing a summary of this spring’s shows. I don’t know how I can do this without your concise yet informative summary! I agree – this season looks a lot better than the last. There’s a few I will give it a go and generally the key factors are my main concerns (if you don’t know already) – art, story and seiyuu. The last two kind of go hand in hand. Here we go and broadly in order of preference:

Hanasuka Iroha

Matsumae Ohana is 16 years old and about to start work at an old Japanese hot spring hotel. How I miss those places! I could seriously do with some relaxing right now. I just watched the trailer and I LOVE IT!!! The art is AMAZING! It took my breath away once it came on!  The story line is already kind of sweet and fuzzy but we also seem to have a good mix of colourful nicely designed characters! Is it just me but that girl with black hair def seems to be a tsundere!!! *SQUEAL* Oooh! I even spotted a blush!!! ^_^ To top it off, the music rocks and we have Aki Toyosaki and MAMIKO NOTO!!!! *LOUDER SQUEAL*

Hidan no Aria

This one reminds me of Railgun! There’s a school for training “armed detectives”, there’s ecchi and action! The character designs look ok too! I like the sniper with the headphones!!! Kakkoi!!!! There’s also Rie Kugimiya!! I have just one concern…apparently the director here was also responsible for the ghastly Freezing

Steins;Gate

Some sci-fi anime about a time machine and a girl gone missing in Akihabara. The art looks pretty good but no particular seiyuu that I am a fan of. I’ll give this one a go – at least for one episode and see how I go.

C – The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

I’m not sure what this is about but the art looks worthy of checking out. Something about the financial district!? I’m lost…The trailer kind of scared me a bit though…

I might want to also give Ao no Exorcist a go as it reminds me of Keanu Reeve’s Constantine which is one of my favourite movies. It’s scary but I love it! Probably cos it’s got Keanu!! haha Anyway, I’m only doing a slight mention as the anime looks scary!! I might find it too disturbing to watch at night. I’ll see.

Have I missed anything guys!? I’m betting that I’ll end up following just the first two. What will you guys be watching??

Usually I’m not a fan of harem shows (I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot this season) but this anime has a good balance of pleasant animation (not as nice as GOSICK but some of the art we have seen this season is honestly ARGH!!), nice character designs (I think the girls are all quite pretty), the “onee-sama” factor when all the students squeal over Chifuyu-nee and BEST of all the voices of Youko Hikasa and MEGUMI TOYOGUCHI!!! SEI!! How I miss that voice!!!! The guy is also surprisingly not that annoying and actually seems decent! I reckon this one is almost a must watch! The harem factor got a tad over the top in episode 3 but by episode 4 it looks like we’re getting a more serious storyline coming through. The mecha fighting scenes are done quite kakkoi too! This is def worth giving it a go!!

Gokigenyou!

Hello! Now let's cut to the chase! If you're here to squeal about yuri or update yourself on some Japanese dramas/movies and gossip - then this is the place to be!!! I personally prefer the squealing over yuri amongst other things!! HEHEHE (^_^)V
