Just by my title alone you probably realise that this is my first contact with Strike Witches!!!! I looked HIGH and LOW but could not find any signs of dresses or pants!!!! All I saw was a nice sailor type uniform but as I looked down I’d see panties and/or bare legs!!!! Oh boy…
When I watched this anime, I just thought it was all about someone’s fetish coming true!!! Girls with no pants, cat ears and tails and can kick ass!!! hahaha It’s OK so far…not all that exciting though I do think the one of the bottom right hand corner is pretty cool! I also liked the animation of the cherry blossoms. VERY pretty!! I’ll keep watching but I feel that I will eventually drop it…
There’s not much this season in my opinion, which means there’s no YURI!!! **CRIES** Well there’s a teeny bit in Strike Witches (another reason why I’m watching it). k1y0 has been powering through a few animes already and feedback so far to me is “meh”!
I will at least give the below a try (broadly in order of preference from most to least wanting to watch):
(a) Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin (aka Occult Academy)
Launch date: 5 July 2010
Plot: It’s all about the supernatural – the daughter of the former headmaster of an occult academy who dies in 1999 and a man, his background unknown, that time travels from 2012.
Why I’m watching it: The plot sounds interesting! I generally do like supernatural things as long as it’s not TOO scary! haha I figured I’ll try something different for a change. There’s also Youko Hikasa!!! Mio from K-ON!! ^_^

I haven’t watched this before but I’m sold by Sapphire Onee-chan’s post. ^_^ I’m still not a fan of the “missing pants” but I’ll give it a go…

Plot: Romance comedy with fairy tale parodies. Ryoko along with her partner (girl again), Ringo, runs around fixing things in the school. Oh and just to balance things out, obviously a guy is thrown in.
Why I’m watching it: No idea what to expect from the storyline but OMG the SEIYUU!!! It has a heap of seiyuu that I like!!! Shizuka Ito, Aki Toyosaki (Yui from K-ON!), Ayako Kawasumi (Chikane from Kannazuki no Miko!!), Rie Kugimiya (Touko in Marimite and Yuuki in Saki) AND Yui Horie (*JAW DROP* Yuuki from Vampire Knight, Eri from School Rumble)!!!! Recognise the voice in the trailer!?!! hehe
Oh and of course I will be watching Sono Hanabira…

*Let’s out a wave of excitement*~~~~~ Season 1 of Strike Witches was nothing spectacular but there are several things going for this anime that make it worth watching that yuri-fans and others crave:
- YURI! – What helps to make the yuri stand out in this show is the pairings are pretty much set!
- Moe – Despite how loli these characters appear, they are quite kawaii like K-ON! I put off watching this show for some time because I’m not of fan of loli characters. However, the adult-like war roles they play cloaks this for me.
- Fanservice – Panty shots galore! (again not a fan but this tickles the fancy of many). Ecchi fans welcome.
- Cheerful Episodes – We are told by the staff that there will more cheerful episodes to come. I’m expecting something similar to Sora no Woto.
- Neko fans – These ladies morph into your cute furry feline friend when they’re in kick-ass mode. (Note: Not all of them morph into cats. At least one of them has dog ears)
- Action – These magical moe anthropomorphic yuri ladies take on ginormous mecha enemies in decent battle scenes enough to not make you want to die of boredom.

I’m pretty hyped to watch all the yuri-goodness this show has to offer! Hopefully it’s not too much of my yuri-ful thinking at work. This one should be interesting! Give Season 1 a shot if you haven’t already!
