I finally got around to watching the last two episodes of Hard to Say I Love You!!

Warning: Spoilers ahead!!

So at the end of episode, I was adamant that Rinda was gone for good, but guess what!?! He survives!!! FOR ONE more episode and then he karks it. I don’t mean to sound unsympathetic but if you make him survive then don’t kill him off shortly afterwards!?! Aaaaaah!!! Scriptwriter-san is irritating me here!! She cheats of us our tears in episode 9 when he dies and repeats it again. *sigh* And I fell for it.

Particularly in the scenes where each of the characters are reading the message that Rinda left them…that was when my tears refused to stay still in my eyes and decided to overflow…those were sad moments clearly, but it was sad to me because it made me think what it would be like to lose someone close to me. Anyway, let’s move away from such a heavy topic.

Who likes Eita here?!! I DO!!! I just like him cos he seems like a friendly nice guy. His characters in dramas and movies are always yasashii. ^_^

BUT he is now off the market!!! SHOT GUN MARRIAGE!!!

The girl is 5 months pregnant!!! More details here!!

Aaaaaw!! I like this picture!! Such a nice genuine SMILE!!! ^_______^

OOOOOOH!! I have a jdrama to recommend!!! It’s Sunao no Narenakute!!! Also called “hard to say I love you“. Awwww…It stars Juri Ueno, Eita, Tetsuji Tamayama and Jaejoong Youngwoong!!! What an eye candy cast!!! Surely just based on this it’s a must see!!! Doesn’t the gang look great!?! Another good reason is becuse the scriptwriter is Eriko Kitigawa who also created other masterpieces like Beautiful Life, Orange Days and Long Vacation. All my favourites!!! It’s been a LOOOOOOONG time since her last work. Nice to see her again!!!

Synopsis (taken from Dramawiki)

Nakajima looks up to his father, who was a war photographer, but can only get a job as an assistant for gravure magazines. Mizuno is a provisional high school teacher, currently on probation. Nishimura is Mizuno’s best friend, whose boyfriend has been avoiding her since she discovered she was pregnant. Ichihara works at a magazine where he is being blackmailed into sexual favours by his chief editor. Park, on Twitter, takes on the persona of a doctor, when he is actually working at a company that sells medical equipment to disinterested doctors, and at the same time, trying to take care of his younger sister.

This is a story about the blossoming friendship of five young people who were brought together by Twitter, and their journey to finding honesty with each other and with themselves.

How I felt about this jdrama

So I wrote the above before I watched episode 1 and I’m pretty taken away. My emotions while watching went from:

  • Oooooh!! I want to run through the streets of Shibuya too!!!!
  • Oooooh!! Miu Miu store!!! I was there just a few months ago!!! Don’t worry. I was outside and just walked past. My credit card was safe. *nod nod*
  • I started cracking up when I saw them meeting each other as I’ve since thought about meeting some of my friends online!!! LOL Will it be like that!?!
  • Then I got all quiet and was like “people can’t be that bad” when the drama looks into the real lives of each person and the terrible people they face each day.

This drama is definitely interesting and makes me think. All massive internet users, blog owners and twitterers should check this out. Very worth your time!! Ratings are not skyrocket high but are at a very decent 11.9% and 13.2% for episodes 1 and 2. BUT BUT!!! OMG!! They did a “Last Friends” kind of flashback at the beginning!! I’m like, “CRAAAAAP!! WHO DIED!?!?!” But I’m not too worried this time, I’m pretty sure it’s not Juri! *nod*

TONNES of music was used in just episode 1!! LOVE!! Looks like this is going to be one of those dramas where it probably won’t have it’s own OST but uses a lot of instrumentals of pop music and instrumentals from other OSTs. I could identify the below – there’s heaps more but I’m just getting tired!!! :P

  • Great DJ~ The Ting Tings
  • That’s Not My Name ~ The Ting Tings
  • The instrumental just before Juri and Eita meet in the cafe sounds very much like ‘Maestro’ by Hans Zimmer…
  • Oh I love the instrumental in the scene where Juri and her friend are in the shop with Juri describing how it feels like “fate” when she thinks of Eita…kind of a magical tune… Awwww!!! hahahaha
  • Then when it’s time for the guys to take a picture, it really IS Maestro that is playing!!! KYAAAAAAA!!! LOVE IT!!! One of my favourite instrumental tracks!!

Let me know what you think!!! I’m glad I suddenly had the urge to look into the jdramas for this season!!!

The new drama season in Japan has started! YAY! Check this spot out for the latest rundown of what’s being subbed or not! What’s the point of a great drama (like Last Friends) if it isn’t subbed, right?

Now for the ones that catch my eye:

ヴォイス Voice

Genre: Medical + drama

Actors: Eita (yay!!), Satomi Ishihara

Broadcast date: 12 January

Fansub groups: GiriGiri (soft), TimeLesSub (hard)

EITA!! YAY!! One of my favourite Japanese actors! Can’t wait to see more of him! He plays one of the five medical students who are studying forensic pathology. His character is bright and is known for his great perceptive skills and strong intuition. Together, the students work through various mysteries. Another point worth noting is that the screenwriter is Shigeki Kaneko who was also responsible for Proposal Daisakusen.

Some gossip on the set of Atsu Hime! I haven’t been watching this but just to give a bit of background – it’s a period drama and the protagonist is Aoi Miyazaki. The drama has been getting good ratings despite the Olympics. It’s been getting at least 20%+ and reached a high of 27.7% recently! It’s dramas like these that reminds us that high 20s are still achievable!

Anyway, it’s a long drama and still running despite being up to episode 34. There are some familiar names like Eita, Shota Matsuda and last of all, MAKI HORIKITA! She was a recent addition and plays the daughter-in-law of Aoi and they DON’T GET ALONG! More importantly, the rumour is that Aoi in reality feels threatened by Maki!

Outside of the filming, the two ignore each other. Apparently, on one occasion, Aoi was flipping through a magazine while on set and saw a survey in which Maki ranked higher than her! Uh oh….NOT HAPPY! It is said that Aoi does not even address Maki by her name when talking to others and instead would say “that person”.

As their interaction in Atsu Hime increases, the tension is also heightening!! Insiders say that the role has been tough on Maki as she has not done period dramas before so is not used to the elaborate garments and headsets. Consequently, she tends to do make mistakes more often that usual. Aoi, knowing this, deliberate waits on the side to see her get embarrassed. The situation has been made worse as Maki becomes increasingly popular and has recently scored the lead role in the upcoming Fuji TV drama, Innocent Love, which will be aired at prime time 9pm (source).

Hmm…now I feel like I should check the drama out! But then I like my dramas short….maybe…

*I see the pictures below. I think I’m going to faint…(referring to Eita’s hair…)*

OKAY!! Maybe not…I prefer my actors in “normal” clothes!!! Oh and Eita’s hair!?! (what hair??) Ok, I’ll take the Last Friend’s version. ^_^ hahaha

On a more serious note, I don’t know whether the rumour is true or not. I guess it’s not surprising even if it is true. A bit of a pity though cos I liked Aoi’s performance in Heavenly Forest. Oh well…

Well, the 57th Drama Academy Awards is JUST around the corner!! Apparently the voting will end on 22 July so I’m expecting the actual awards to be presented in the month of July. Sorry but I could not find the exact date!!

BUT! I did find out something!

BIG QUESTION: Who is going to run for best actress?

ANSWER: Masami Nagasawa

PROOF: Here –> THE nomination list

Oh well…I guess it was expected but I’m rooting for Juri and Eita to get the best actress/actor awards!!

Actually – this is my wish list:

Best supporting actress – Juri Ueno

Best supporting actor – Eita

Best actress – Masami Nagasawa

Song drama award – Prisoner of Love!!

I actually don’t think Masami was that amazing but I’m all for LF!! hahaha Ideally, Last Friends should do a full sweep of all the awards but the above are the ones I’m most concerned about!

Anyway, GO LAST FRIENDS!! If only there was a way we could vote! I’ll keep you guys posted if I find out anything more!!

Love this damn show...^_^
