I absolutely love this book!!!! I’m trying to refrain myself from going on and on about it cos I don’t want to raise the bar too high and cause disappointment for others. For those who read my blog, you will HAVE to read it. I will accept no excuses. If I could I would make you drop everything and read it now!!!! Hahaha I actually re-read the book immediately upon finishing it and proceeding to finish it for the 3rd time!! Btw the quickest way to get this is via Amazon (book and e-book).
Now back to what the fuss is all about. The main characters of this book are Caidence Harris and Robyn Ward. Caidence, also affectionately known as “Caid”, is a new and upcoming actress. From doing a few commercials here and there, she has now finally made it to a prime time crime TV series where she plays a kick-ass detective. She’s 34 and in recent years has acknowledged her attraction towards women – but has yet to act upon it. Robyn Ward on the otherhand has been in the show business longer and is a jaw dropper with stunning looks and the ability to make anyone weak at the knees – men or women. She’s one hell of a dangerous one!! The book never actually says how old she is but presumably around the same age as Caid. The two becomes acquainted when Robyn comes to do a guest appearance. She caught Caid’s attention immediately…
The reason why I have enjoyed the book so much is that we get to see the initial stages of the relationship i.e. a lot of flirting, blushing and SQUEAL-worthy moments! In my opinion. at least! I also find the backdrop to be very rich. We are not just reading about Caidence and Robyn but also about the characters around them, their work, their family and their past. All the characters are very much alive to me!! I love reading about them all! I was completely engrossed into this book and was sad when I came to the end. I wish I could read more about the two. *cries*!!
Everyone, you must check this book out!!! I plan to start exploring for more yuri books to read. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! I am also happy to post up guest reviews!!! If you do get a chance to read this, please COMMENT!!! I want to squeal together!!!!!!
I would rate this book 9.5 out of 10. ^_^

*Squeeeeeeeesss* I absolutely loved this book, and yes I started reading it when you put the post up and just finished it. I don’t think there was a single character I ended up hating, Trish got what was coming to her and well the guy who beat Caid up is in some psycho ward, so all in all I had this incredible love for this book when I finished xD. Oh wait there was one, Robyn’s ex, ohhhh what I would have given to see Caid open her another…
Ack I’m not sure if I’m allowed for random spoilers but I don’t think I was too bad. While my favorite couple was definitely Robyn and Caid but Liz ended up stealing the show for me as favorite character xD. You were right, I found the backdrop story to be quite endearing and every character felt real. But ;o; too short! I wish there was more to it when I finished it >w<
I hope you find more yuri books out there to share with us, I'll try reading the other one you posted but it seems like it was bland? I wish I could suggest others but I've never had much success looking for yuri books to read so this was quite the nice sunday read for me, thank you~ xD

Your welcome Sai!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!! I’m reading it again myself right now…It would be great if we knew more of what Robyn was thinking during this whole time…!!

While I would still love more of Robyn’s perspective in the book, I was actually pleased to be able to read and re-read it and decipher most of what she was thinking as she let Caid through her barriers.

Four words: Sexual Tension ON Steroids
All jokes aside, this book easily is one of my favorites. I did not want to stop reading and stole a few minutes of work just to read a few pages. It was charmingly written and the sex scenes were “tastefully” done. No words of profanity…just two people making love with so much passion you can feel the hunger and tenderness. I’m in love with the characters so much, I can’t decide which one I’m in love with more, Caid or Robyn, so I’ll just take both.
I’ve only read one other lesbian book but that seems to pale in comparison to what I felt reading this book. I much prefer stories that I can relate to. i.e. women with careers that become a couple. The whole high school yuri scene is too young and cliched for me.
100 out of 10 in a scale of Yuriness..like I said it’s sexual tension on steroids between two women.
I’d give it a 10/10 but I can’t really compare it to other books of this genre as I’ve only read two.
Highly recommended if you want to squeal your toosh off.

hahaha “sexual tension on steroids”?!! Not exactly what I had in mind but yes this book does evoke a lot of passion. It’s all necessary to the relationship building though – in my opinion at least!! Glad u liked it so much!!! ^^

OOoooh you’re right!! I love the book so much that just owning the e-book is not enough! I’m going to buy the actual book so that I can put it proudly on my shelf. I wonder what my sister would say if I told her this is one of my favourite books… ^_^

Damn. Just damn. I was going through every yuri website that Lililicious shared and found yours again and to my surprise this post. You’re description of this book and your enthusiasm made me instantly want to read it! And when I finally got it, I just couldn’t stop smiling! Everything was exactly as you said about it. It is seriously one of my favorite books now! I’d never read an actual lesbian novel (they’re pretty hard to find at the public library and I have access to 15 libraries!) especially since I’ve never found one that truly captured my eye. I’ve been content with manga and Japanese light novel versions of yuri but with this special find I must say I want to try searching for more books again of this caliber. It was a simple, easy read yet so vivid in its descriptions and interactions between the characters and their surroundings. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this book sooner. I can’t stop rereading the scenes I found most endearing to me. As someone mentioned before, it seems it was public domain for a while and now it’s licensed. I’m not surprised that it became licensed–It’s that good! I also would have enjoyed it being a bit longer and see how Robyn and Caid deal with the public eye even more so than ever but alas we as readers may never get to know what happens to them in the future. It would also be nice if the author wrote from Robyn’s point of view. I can only imagine what was going on through her head when interacting with Caid. And that night when she ditched Caid. I also would love to know what happened there! XD Anyways, this book gave me a lot of ideas and also made me want to examine my own yuri fanfic writing (MioXRitsu) and writing in general, especially when it comes to the romance genre. I’ve told about 5 people about this amazing book and already have one who wants to borrow it from me! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful book of the genre that normally is hard for any writer to write well enough that many people can truly appreciate. I look forward to seeing what more hidden gems there are just waiting to be discovered. I’m sure you’ll blog about those as well when you find them and I too would not mind sharing anything I find. Thanks for everything and god luck to future yuri!

You know how hard it is to find any books like the one above at a library? >.< Out of the 13 or so libraries I have at my disposal, not ONE of them had this, or any others you've listed to read. Or even ones that people have suggested reading. Not one! I thought living near a major city would help but apparently not. DX And I don't own a reader and most of the books I'm finding are out of stock. How does everyone deal with such things? Any tips as to get books easier?
