I had kind of high expectations of this anime. Not that I know what the story was about but I knew it was going to have amazing animation which is always a fundamental requirement of a good anime, in my opinion. When it first starts, there is no doubt that this anime will have plenty for the eyes to see but very soon into it, I felt like I was watching a little girl being abused!!! CHILD LABOUR!!!! Her submissive character and continuous reminder that she is here to serve her masters is not really my thing. Why couldn’t the story be about a rude tomboy character that mellows out!? haha I like my strong characters!!!! Hmm…I’m not too thrilled but I’m willing to watch another episode or 2. Who knows, maybe I’ll change my mind very quickly!!!
What do you guys think? Who’s watching it?

You’ll find out next week^^. I have been trying to find the five best animes of the season, so I’ve watched three episodes of the new shows. Suffice to say, the process will be more difficult than I thought!

Child labor wasn’t illegal in most places until the twentieth century, and her job is pretty cushy by the standards of the time- other children had to mine, farm or work in factories. She does become slightly more assertive in the second episode though. I like the show just to see how she and the French people react to each other.

Considering the fact that Yune was trained as a maiko before coming to Paris, her personality isn’t much of a surprised. Japanese women were traditionally supposed to be submissive and polite anyway, and taking the time setting of this anime into account, they actually did a good job of executing this.
