We have come to the end of Tessa’s yuri manga series recommendations! How sad! If there are other works that you reckon others should know about, please let me know and we can arrange another guest post! I have enjoyed going through Tessa’s manga. I hope people have had as much fun as me. Strawberry Shake Sweet is next on my list! ^___^

Anata to Scandal

Huh?

Huh...

Tomoka falls in love at first sight for the front man of a band playing at a school dance.  Only that man turns out to be a girl. That doesn’t stop Tomoka though, she still intends to persue her love.  Unfortunately the object of her affection, doesn’t like girls.  Tomoka won’t let that stop her either.

This manga appeals to so many of my weaknesses, I am unable to give a good value judgement on its quality.  It has performing arts, a music prodigy, cross dressing, and yuri!  So read at your own risk.  It does have a few hilarious moments though.  It stopped being scanlated at chapter 12, but personally I think it’s a good stopping point, and prevents me from having to continue in the direction the story started to turn.  Sooo I can imagine a happy yuri ending.

Huh...(again)

Iono The Fanatics

The queen of some European country enjoys surrounding herself with young women servants.  Next she has her eyes set on Japan and jaunts off there to get her next slave…servants.

This series is very very odd but amusing and sometimes hilarious.  The words “Rich people are strange” could never be more true.

I always carry an electronic dictionary just for that reason.

Umm... Umm... Who doesn't?

This is less of a manga, and more of a comic strip.  It’s the 4 vertical panel format (like azumanga daioh).  It’s an interesting view of the Japanese lesbian culture with assorted women in different relationship status.  The art is goofy and not very ummm good. But I like it a lot.

Sleepy: Seriously Tessa, what the…!?! This looks ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE! LOL

The last recommendation is a personal favourite of Tessa’s – a non-yuri manga series. I’m sure we can handle that! Something different for a change! ^_^

Glass Mask

Maya is a not very bright, scatter brained middle school girl who loves watching tv and movies.  She turns out to be an acting prodigy and taken under the wings of a former famous actress who wants to mold her into the best actress in the world.

This happens a lot in the series.

This is my favorite manga of all time, and isn’t really yuri at all… but it does feature a girl who looks like a boy and always has girls falling for her (sometimes she uses this to her advantage).  Also, I suspect Maya’s rival Ayumi is in love with her.  Plus Ayumi acts in the play Carmilla, a classic lesbian vampire story.  It’s also very long running.  started in 1975.
